Registration, customs, and official links

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT All foreign visitors must register within 3 days of arrival. Hotels do this automatically — keep all registration receipts until departure. If staying in a private home, the host must register you at the local OVIR office.

CUSTOMS DECLARATION Uzbekistan sets limits on how much foreign cash you may bring or take without paperwork — thresholds and forms change. If you carry more than a few thousand USD equivalent, read the latest rules on customs.uz and fill a declaration when required. Keep stamped exit forms if you leave with remaining foreign currency. Antiques and cultural objects about 100+ years old need an export permit from the Ministry of Culture.
